What would you choose? Single shot Rifles

I am located in Australia, and typically not many hunters would use a single shot rifle for deer hunting. Generally, if you come across one its a 45-70 H&R. However, I have an itch I want to scratch, and that is to hunt with a single shot break action rifle.
If you had to choose one to start with, what would you recommend? Considering aftermarket support, trigger weight, and accuracy potential as potential criteria.

I would try one of the Henry single shots. I don’t know if they are any good but I would try one to find out if I were into single shots.

Tc encore. Soon to be back in production. Lots of support for barrels and stocks. Bellm makes updated springs that allow a nice light trigger. Quite a bit more cost than an h&r or a cva. Cva rifle seem to be good as well, but don’t allow interchanging barrels. For the cost it’s almost a nonissue as they cost about the same as an encore barrel.

That's a good consideration I didn't think of, having the option to switch barrels would provide a lot of versatility. I also like the idea of being able to improve the trigger.

I like the CVA scouts. Not particularly fond of the big fluted bull barrel stainless ones though, they are so muzzle heavy that you almost can't carry them with a sling. The regular blued ones with normal profile barrels are great. They all shoot well, have good triggers and are reasonably priced compared to other options.

Google the now owner of tc before you line his pockets.

Saying there's been quite a few mentions of game law violations and unethical shots.
I have enough old tc stuff to last 3 lifetimes, but won't be buying anything new from them.
It should help bring down prices on original encores. Frames were getting crazy. I would like a few more in my collection and wasn’t willing to spend what they were going for.

I don’t see a price point listed so I would recommend the Blaser k-95 if you don’t have a budget. It will have a great trigger and will be accurate. Takes down with no tools and has a super tough scope mounting system built in. My only regret is that didn’t find a way to afford one sooner

I didn't realise the contour changed when they came in stainless. Normally my preference is always stainless

I hadn't heard of them before, just had a look at what they retail for in Australia 😬 I could build three custom rifles for that price point. It looks like the perfect single shot though!

The Henry’s single shot brass rifles look great to me. My kid has one of there lever guns in 45/70 all weather it’s a blast to shoot. He got it without talking to me lol. I sighted in for him, it’s a shoulder getter but I like big guns lol. I want to kill a bear this spring over my baits with it. If I were buying a 45/70 for myself that brass single shot one would be mine.

I have shot the Henry single shot and like it a lot. From a practicality standpoint, this would be my top pick if I were buying a single shot to hunt with.

I wish I knew someone that had a K95, of money were no concern, I’d buy one of those.

Ruger No. 1 is not a “break action” but it is a single shot, and I think one of the best looking single shots out there.

For me I think it would be a Pedersoli rolling block, likely .357 or 30/30 for cheaper shooting, and less recoil. All iron, just cause of what it is.

If I'm going to put an optic on it, probably a Ruger #1 in a common, cheap caliber i.e. .243, 6.5cm, 308 etc.
