What Wind Checker

Milkweed is awesome and I need to do a better job of harvesting it.
I have just refilled my bottle with corn starch. Not sure of who made the bottle, the logo has worn off.

Unscented talcum powder. You can buy a pound in a bottle which will last your lifetime.

corn starch. it is less susceptible to clumping in damp weather than the talc or baby powder, IMHO. try both and go with what you prefer. no need to buy expensive stuff when simple works fine. milkweed pods are the cheapest, obviously.

I put a piece of the woven dental floss on my bow stabilizer. It works well.

As far as the bottles. I refill my bottles with micro balloons. That's the lightest and best! I get a big bottle at hobby stores and refil and it last me many seasons. Much lighter than corn starch and talc powder. Those are heavy and clump

I keep a piece of dental floss tied to my bow riser. I slightly frayed the end when I put it on to help it catch the wind but after several years of it dangling in the wind, it looks really broken in and works even in the slightest breeze. Nearly tough as nails.

Combining a wind detector for your location (like this frayed dental floss or a small piece of down on a dental floss) with a puff bottle to show you the path your scent is taking over a longer distance is an excellent way to get a full picture of what the wind is doing in your hunting area.

I tried corn starch once and it didn't work very well.......seemed clumpy and heavy instead of a nice powder mist. Then I found Windicator bottles on sale at Walmart one year for $1 ea and stocked up. Will last me the rest of my life for sure.
