A few 29 cent per pound birds tomorrow, around crock pot size, will find their way to my freezer.

I bought a frozen 24lb turkey for 49 cents a pound on Tuesday. It's in the freezer until I decide to cook it up.

Some of you guys hating on turkey I guarantee would like mine. It’s all about injection and slow cooking in a smoker. I hate white turkey meat but I prefer the white meat after I work my magic. I also make turkey sausage and made chic-fil-et style nuggets from my daughter’s turkey.

Spam is delicious by the way, especially in some Navajo frybread with roasted green chile.

My mom was horrified when my grandad taught me about fried spam sandwiches.



There's really nothing thats bad fried, except maybe avocados, I still don't think there's any way to make those things edible.

Turkey is the worst of all time. It sucks. No one actually likes it. People just eat it on Thanksgiving because they are supposed to. If people really loved turkey like they pretend to on Thanksgiving, then why doesn't everyone roast turkeys year round?

On years we have stayed home and not had guests we have roasted a couple whole chickens, cooked a pot roast, roasted a tri tip.

Now yes, I am being a little dramatic. Obviously some very rare people love turkey (no ideo why). But for me I'd rather eat anything else.

One thing I will say is I CAN cook a good turkey, regardless of if I enjoy it or not .

I disagree. We usually buy 3 turkeys at Thanksgiving when they are super cheap. We vacuum seal what we don't eat after the thanksgiving bird, and eat it incrementally and cook a turkey every 4 months or so. Have you ever made Turkey Divon? We eat that every other week or so.
