What is the feeling in the oil and gas industry if she wins?
Will it be suppressed for a lot longer due to increased regulations here keeping the oil coming mostly from abroad?
Our oil industry is primarily responding to state politics and global markets effecting the west coast crude price. There is a recent large field found in state waters, and some NPR-A federal fields. I am foggy on what lies to the west there but the exploration activities have dropped off this winter. I am told due to low prices and not state tax issues. One friend works up there for a support company and they are slow due to the lack of exploration work needing their support. He has overhead projects happening so is not concerned this winter.
Clinton, will have little impact on oil up here in the long term I feel. Unless there is a huge push to change approval processes at various agencies. Certain federal lands may be in locked up through the monuments act by the current POTUS or Clinton. Coastal ANWR will stay closed even though it has diesel fuel springs along the coastal beaches.
The less big oil spends on employees the harder it will be on the local economy. The big producers have been scaling back for two years now. Probably keep it up as long as oil prices stay low.
