What to look for when buying a used saddle system?

Would like to venture into saddle hunting. What should I look for when buying a used/preowned saddle system to make sure it’s up to snuff?

Fuzz from abrasion
Any seams pulling apart
Dirt or stains
Fading from sun exposure
Age—any soft gear like this has a shelf life.

What are you looking for? I've got a Tethred Phantom XL in the classifieds right now. Never used for an actual hunt just fussing around trying to get a feel for it.
