I’ll buck the trend here and offer a different opinion. It’s not your job to apologize for the long list of slob hunters that have probably trespassed on this guys land. But a good interaction with a hunter like yourself can’t hurt. Telling him to f* himself and pressing harassment charges certainly will.

OP- When your boys were teenagers, if they broke a bunch of the rules you had for them would you take them out for a nice dinner so they'd learn to act right and follow the house rules?

My intensions were to let the guy know we aren't all trespassing asholes and maybe he'd approach it differently in the future.

I see both sides here unfortunately, maybe help the next guy out. I can also see if I were to press harassment charges (I'm not) that it would make it much worse for the next guy if they were to shoot something on public and it get over onto his land lord only know what would happen if you misread your map and were actually on his land.... Geesh

All great feedback. I think I will keep the whiskey $$ but I will take the suggestion of making a call the the Wardens Office and giving the warden an atta boy, I can only imagine the BS these guys deal with from all us yahoos from out of state and angry ranchers.
