What side of the Basins do you see most of your deer?

It seems to depend on the year and typically it is the north facing side but this year i am seeing a ton on the south facing slopes.

I am in a new area with mostly north south drainages. Most of the mature bucks have been on the west ridge and east facing slope, if that makes sense. I have only seen one mature buck on an east ridge west facing slope. Same for elk, but in July I was in an east west drainage and found a 21 head bachelor herd of bulls on the south facing slope.
