What shotgun are you all using for Turkeys

I'll use my do it all shotgun A400 but outfitted with a rail and Romeo 5. I also got a A300 20 gauge this year for my wife and boy to start using and set that one up with a rib mount and reflex. My goal this year is to get my wife her first bird, my son his 2nd, and kill my 2 birds

I bought a pawn shop beater single 12 for my turkey gun. Half a roll of camo duct tape and it’s ready to roll.

My crappy, hideous Charles Daly Walmart Special with a simple fiber optic bead that I got for Christmas 20 years ago as a teenager.

Every year I plan to buy a better shotgun, and every year I just don't have the budget, so this one keeps following me back into the woods season after season :ROFLMAO:

Listen, I bought the same gun 5 years ago because my aunt and uncle gave me a 100 dollar gift card to Walmart. I saw the gun and said what the heck and paid the difference. That gun flat out hammers turkeys. The plastic stock hammers you when you shoot 3.5” tss though . Honestly for the money, I find it hard to beat. I prefer it over my auto loader franchi for turkey

I just put a Vortex viper red dot sight on my Beretta 1301 comp for turkey this year. Also I got a Carlson's long beard turkey choke which I found to pattern much better than a full. First turkey I ever got was with my Browning BPS 20ga with Federal turkey loads. Surprisingly effective but I like carrying my lighter 1301 these days.

Going on my first turkey hunt in KY in 3 weeks, and booked for TX next spring. Ordered a 940 Pro turkey, plan to get a pistol grip setup in it after we get back from KY.

Was going to get the SA 20, but couldn’t justify the TSS tax. I got 50 rounds of turkey loads for the price of about 5 TSS

I'm curious. What kind of ammo are you using for turkey?

TSS is now around $10+ per shot and won’t be going down soon if it’s even available. Last price I ran across for shot was $130/lb, used to be $55/lb. I really do like my 410’s but made sure I laid in a few extra boxes of shells just in case. I can only get 4 tags per year, so a few boxes should last for a while.

Winchester Longbeard XR, their Turkey load. Found it on sale and there was also a rebate on it! Other than TSS loads it gets pretty good reviews everywhere. Sold in boxes of 10, rather than 5 like the TSS
In 2019, I had a total shoulder replacement. The surgeon recommended "NO RECOIL" for 1 year.
Due to a "pox", Oklahoma's turkey population was down about 90%. So turkey hunting wasn't hard to give up for awhile.
I was telling a friend about my delimma. He had a Mossberg 183D .410 he was no longer using, so he sent it to me! 😃
I started looking for some 3" ammo with #9 shot. I found some 2.5" #8's, but no 3" and no #9's!
Out of sheer desperation, I finally ordered two 5 round boxes of Federal, 3" with #9 TSS. SIXTY BUCKS!!! 🤯
Won't be buying any more of those!
Now my goal, IF I can find a box of 3" ammo with #9 lead shot, is to take a turkey with standard ammo!

I would not be shooting lead out of a 410 at turkeys unless you want your max range to be 20 yards. Sub gauges like that are only legal because of tss… yeah it’s not cheap but if you wanna shoot lead I’d be running a minimum of a 20 ga but a 12 would be much better.
