Those high and tight racks with a lot of points always score higher than they look, awesome buck! Lots of inches in points there. A wider rack would only score a few more inches, but look a lot bigger. 170” looks right to me.

I dont see any "private preserve" seasons in WI in sept. So either what they shot was livestock (inside a fence), wild deer illegally taken, or there's some season that is not clearly shown in WI's regs.

Im quite sure he means a game farm. judging by how white the horns are that would be my guess. Though some of the farms they actually have fenced ridges with real trees for them to rub on.

There is a fence surrounding the 1800 acres, not a high fence it's 6' tall, which deer can easily clear. One of the places I hunt Elk has a high fence area, that fence is 12' tall.

Its bigger than that. Long tines and girth. He doesn't have a huge spread but all those tines add up. Its probably closer to 150 than it is 133

If that is accurate, would you say your nephew and his friend illegally killed wild deer or did they kill farmed deer that are not legally fenced?

Your nephew and his friend either shot livestock or they're poachers. What other options is there?

I wan't there so I don't have all the particulars. I may be wrong about the height of the fence, but I know it's not 12', I have hunted pheasant on the farm many times when I go to visit.. If you want to call them livestock, that's fine by me. I Elk hunt a 1200 sq mile property in NM that has fence all around it. I don't consider the Elk livestock.

Tine length, mass, # scoreable points all seem to favor the entry level pen-raised buck in comparison. That's a nice buck though.

Ya that was my quick look after another guy looked it is bigger than my initial thoughts the narrow frame got me. I see why the sci was used to score as b&c isnt applicable
