Its a 30mm tube scope so I know I need 30mm rings but what height do the bases need to be? Will the low work or will I need the medium? Trying to get it set up this week. Thanks
Every ring manufacturer's ring heights are different for a given designation. It's pretty straight forward math, you can add the height of your base and rings and see if that is greater than the difference between the objective and tube diameters. To get as low as possible you need to also figure out the distance from center of bore difference between on top of receiver and outside of barrel where objective bell will be.
Edit: looked at Leupold's site, I wasn't aware they made talley style 1 peice rings/bases. I wish they would give actual height specs rather than trying to dumb it down.
