What mono to use

Aren’t there some issues with the seal tite band and some tighter throats/bores? I recall some shooters finding extreme pressure with starting loads.

I was using 6.5 Staball and I think starting with 43.5 grains with the 125 Maximus. Velocity was 2850 out of a 24 inch factory tube. So not terrible but already had difficult bolt lift and ejector marks.

With 44.3 grains Staball with the 125 badlands I get 2880 fps. The 124 HH 2980 with 44.5 rl-16.
I've not talked with anyone noticing any pressure spikes. I think that might be a bit of a unknown concern to people who haven't used the projectiles. We noticed a prolonged accuracy in some older rifles that might be a little more worn out, but havent seen a common theme with the seal tite or we wouldn't continue using it. Have you tried the 4350?

However. That is interesting to hear that you had a bit of a sticky bolt. I'll do some digging.

Yes, I have custom barrels on most of my guns. That band thingy intimidates me from trying them. Is it solving a problem that’s not a problem?
The SealTite design ensures a tight seal within the rifle barrel's grooves, preventing gas blow-by, which is a common issue with other solid copper or copper alloy bullets. By creating a complete seal as the bullet travels through and exits the barrel, the SealTite Band eliminates "fliers" (erratic shots).

The band also aids in aligning the bullet to the bore, ensuring it tracks properly with the rifling BEFORE the SealTite™ Band engages, preventing "stripping" and maintaining the seal's integrity.

Additionally, Material Displacement Grooves (MDG) on the bullet allow displaced copper (approximately 0.001" per side) to flow into them when the band enters the barrel's throat and lands, minimizing pressure spikes. For optimal performance,

we recommend seating the bullet so the SealTite™ Band is positioned just outside or close to the case mouth, typically allowing a 0.020-0.025" jump into the chamber throat, though it can be seated up to halfway down the case neck if needed for magazine fit.

This was more or less the idea of the band and what our findings have been with it. What cartridges are you shooting?

Hmm. In my experience fliers are usually caused by the nut behind the gun.

I don’t first hand experience with it myself.
