Can somebody please clue me in as to what the purpose of this strapis. It's the one that is even with the compression loops of the bag. It is sewn at an upward angle. Is this the intended way to attach a guide lid? Am I missing something as to how the bag attaches to the frame?

What bag? What frame? Pictures?

It's on the mountain warrior. My kifaru setup has evolved over the past year as my budget has allowed. I'm finally getting where I want to be. I see now that these straps are for the guide lid...at least I think.

I started this evolution with a cargo panel, guide lid and OR 55L dry sack. Then I picked up the old style nomad and grab-it. Now I was fortunate enough to grab one of the mountain warriors on blow out. Any rigging tips from you guys with a few seasons with this gear would be appreciated.

Is this the appropriate way to attach the grab-it? Should I take the straps to the frame or bag. I have the tactical frame so I have the option for either.

I believe that strap is the old way to attach the guide lid. If you watch Jordan Budd's videos on the Fulcrum she talks about a strap on that pack that I think is the same one you are referring to.

A little trial and error, fine tune what your doing tell if you have the grab it where you want it for your purposes..
For what it,s worth, I run the upper grab it attachment to to the little tab even with the upper compression strap, or further inboard, just above it. The grab it has turned out to be a lot more useful than I would have guessed.
Almost perfect for carrying big ass snow shoes on the back of the pack. Which, unfortunately, knocks my best argument for getting a Stone Glacier Avail 2200 out of the water, for the most part..

I've got the old school grab it that is only adjustable for length on the top and fixed on the bottom. I do have access to a very capable seamstress across the street to fix that without having to buy a new one.

It seems to work pretty slick for the intended purpose. I had noticed this strap on a nomad I had bought. I was running some straps that came with a guide lid setup.
