what is the tikka of muzzle loaders?

thats what im running and i love it. i have the western precision sight setup on it and its so light and nimble. and the ramrod on the gun is sooooo nice. ive been tempted to get something new in the past but dont want to the detached rod.

I killed a bull within 200 yards of a property boundary a few years ago..First shot was money double lungs but the bull ran downhill towards the property line. Luckily he stopped and was dizzy on his feet giving me an opportunity to reload/shoot two more times and get him killed on public. Fast reloading is an often overlooked/critical feature in muzzleloaders!

The encores are great, iv used one for years. I recently ordered a woodman arms patriot g3 tho. They are lightweight, you can shoot smokeless if you want, and they submerged one for 15min and pulled it out and it fired just fine.

I went from never muzzleloading to shooting a custom builders and buying it the next week. It is dead nuts at 500yds and he has clients killing out at 700. It’s a BLAST to shoot!

My Knight came with a Green Mountain stainless barrel and a Timney trigger. Since you can’t use a scope, have you thought about just getting a 50 cal? If I recall correctly, some states require a .50 cal for elk or moose? I have a Western conversion kit for my knight to shoot percussion or musket caps. used to be that some western states didn’t allow 209 primers. But if you look at a knight, probably should just get a bare primer instead of the DISC.

T/C is coming back - they are starting slow with the Contender & Encore models but are to be slowly starting up production. One of guys that was associate with the past T/C Company found a group and bought it back from S&W who had the brand but discontinued making firearms. If you can find a Omega X5, X7 or Dream Season Used with some custom Builders you could make one into a good Muzzleloader. (Changing to a Brux .45 Barrel and some trigger & breech plug upgrades but the Old Omegas are well sought after ML. Woodsman and Bestill can custom one for you. T/C might bring back the Omega but it was not mentioned in they soon production plans. There is also Knight Rifles but are pricey these days! If you check their website on Fridays they sometimes have a "flash sale" on a rifle or 2.
Then there is Arrowhead but they are Custom Builds that start at about $5.5 k and go up.

I got a CVA Optima after coming from hunting with a Flintlock and it has been accurate and reliable, and it didn't break the bank.
Couldn’t agree more, my Optima has been awesome! Running BH209 and Fury star tips. Big fan of CVA and their muzzys flat out tough.

I’ve emailed tc recently just to show interest in them bringing back the omega. They said it wasn’t in their near future plans. But didn’t rule it out totally, so hopefully someday.🤞I’d like to find a couple for my sons.

It’s been rumored that woodman arms will release a beefed up version of the omega, called the alpha. But they’ve been pretty quiet about it recently. Maybe they’ve been too busy with their other muzzleloader models and their smokeless omega barrels to follow through on it. I will try out one of their omega barrels someday though….

The Woodsman Arms Alpha was before T/C was Bought Back so I doubt Woodsman will be Able to Offer their Version without infringing on the Omega Patent that T/C might have. Being T/C Arms was out of business there was no Patent Infringement but these days when someone wants to copy something and there is a new Company that has the Patents there will be some kind of lawsuit that would cost Woodsman some $. (Similar to Knight Rifles Bare Primer Breech Plug and Adapter as Knight put a cease and desist order out to SSK to stop making their version of that beech plug) Not sure Woodsman is big enough to afford that. When there was no T/C many had their Omega convert to Smokeless because parts dried up for T/C Arms. But now that T/C is coming back all bets are off. Just some observations with T/C. Yet they have not brought back the T/C Shockwaves that was big seller. Have yet to see anything mentioned about the New T/C Arms offering the Shockwaves. T/C maybe just looking at the Firearms Side not the other Accessories they once Offered.

The most accurate muzzleloaders I’ve ever shot or owned has been LHR Redemptions. Using Blackhorn 209 powder and Harvester Scorpion PT Gold 300gr sabots has produced repeatable sub-MOA groups at 100 for me.

Can you run Williams sights on an encore?
My arrowhead SML 45 cal barrel is back at Arrowhead now getting a williams rear sight and Lee Shaver front sight added because I drew a NV tag this year. I dont think it's an off the shelf setup from williams.

I just ordered a TC encore prohunter frame and stock from Hau of Arms. It's new production.

I would recommend TC strongly. There are many good muzel loaders on the market but l have been shooting my TC a very long time. None of the many issues I hear about on the forums occurred.

Only reason I am buying another is I have to many barrels

Now that is interesting! I'm gonna check them out. Thanks!
