Interesting how there is no love for the .40 or even the .45 stuff.

This is where state to state legality really limits .40 and to a lesser extent .45 cal stuff. Colorado’s 50 cal minimum for elk definitely is a deterrent.Interesting how there is no love for the .40 or even the .45 stuff.
Yep, wanted one gun for all the states...This is where state to state legality really limits .40 and to a lesser extent .45 cal stuff. Colorado’s 50 cal minimum for elk definitely is a deterrent.
I just ordered a Woodman Arms Patriot. I wanted something that I could run smokeless in as I hate cleaning.
You oughta try N110 with those light bullets. That's exactly what/why I did. I have a .45 cal Woodman Arms Patriot that I shoot 55gr of N120 and a 195 Barnes Expander Bullet. It's honestly the nicest gun I own, its beautiful.

I'll look into these. I need a left handed version that I can use in Idaho. Thanks! For me, muzzleloaders are all about convenience in cleaning and loading/unloading. I want a breech I can remove by hand, and I want a ramrod under the barrel so I don't have to store it folded up somewhere. Thompson Center Encore, Triumph, CVA Wolf, Optima, and many, many others check those boxes. You didn't specify, but it sounds like you aren't looking for a long range setup or smokeless or anything like that. Is that correct?
