I am looking to make a good set up for my sawyer squeeze.

I was thinking of getting the source bladder because of the quick detach and I can just filter into my bladder.

What should I use for a dirty bag? I have the bags the sawyer comes with and they sell the larger ones but I don't like how small the opening is everyone says they are hard to fill.

I have a couple CNOC bags that I use with my Sawyer for a gravity setup. I use the Sawyer adapter to screw a smartwaters bottle on to it and just back the threads off a quarter turn.

Those CNOC bags look awesome. Thread right on and they have a wide opening. Both things I wanted. They are out of stock though.

I run an in-line with bladder works pretty slick for the pack and then later to fill at camp

Ive been running an inline with a Platypus big zip for years but this year in NZ mine sprung a leak I seriously doubt I will go back to a bag. I will most likely just deal with the extra weight and space of Nalgenes.

I use an MSR Dromedary for my dirty water. I unscrew the big opening to fill it, put the cap on with the hose and filter attached. On the clean side I have a simple MSR hose with on/off switch.

Once the bag is full of dirty water. I attach the filter and hang it in a tree. Good to go at camp or take with me.

My system is untested in the field, but I’ve been using Platypus bladders for years without issue. I don’t trust the zip tops in a pack despite many people using them successfully.

3L Platypus conventional bladder in pack with quick connect fitting in hose.
Sawyer squeeze filter with quick connect fitting on output.
4L Platypus Big Zip dirty bag with hose and Sawyer female adapter and cap, stays at camp.
1L Smart Water bottle for camp use.
Tablets as a backup.

The 3L bladder can stay in my pack, and be filled via the quick connect fitting from the 4L big zip and filter. The leftover 1L in the big zip goes into the Smart Water bottle for drinking in camp.

I can carry the empty Smart Water bottle and tablets while out hunting for an emergency scenario, or carry it full if I find I need extra water during the day and we don’t have a reliable source away from camp.

If either of my bladders springs a leak, I can use the working one in my pack (treated with a tablet for the first time if it’s the dirty bladder) and fill it with the Smart Water bottle and Squeeze filter, albeit more slowly.

Multiple redundancy, minimal weight, and very convenient.

I use two 64oz Sawyer bags for dirty water and the squeeze directly into my bladder and 1L water bags. I like the setup overall but would love some suggestions on bags with a wider opening. The small mouth can be a nightmare to fill unless you have running water.

I don't have one yet but at some point I'll have the CNOC bag for my dirty bag. I sent them an email awhile back and they have plans to make a 3 liter bag in the future; I'll continue with my current setup until they make the larger bag. The CNOC has the large zip opening at the top and the the sawyer screws directly into the bottom. Supposed to be durable as well. Right now I just bought a cheap no name bladder off amazon that is a platypus big zip type knock off for my dirty bag when I choose to gravity filter. Hook the sawyer up inline and use the direct connects on my Source bladder to fill it. I put a shut off valve on the line between the filter and the quick disconnect so I can fill a nalgene or my cookpot as well. It's been working well for me but my last trip I started to have some flow issues so I need to look into that before my next outing.

I use a sawer mini with a msr 4L bag. I put the mini inline and use it a a gravity filter. The bag is nice because it has a micro screen in it to filter out junk that would clog your filter. have been using it for 2 years now and love it, only weighs about 6oz as well.

You have a link? I'd be real interested in that for the screen. The tornado tube and smartwaters bottles make the Sawyer easy to backflush, but some of our canoe trips have silty enough water that it annoys me occasionally.
