Bore tech makes excellent stuff but depending on where you lived your local sporting goods store may not have it. I also use Patch out with the Accelerator and have been really happy with how easy it cleans.

Amazon Prime will have it to your door in 2 days!

Just picked up a new Weatherby 300 and want to start fresh with a proper barrel break in and general maintenance cleaning. What products have you guys used and which ones do i need to stay away from.
do yourself a big favor and look through the threads herein … there was just a good one last week - many, myself included, came away realizing that you DO NOT need to break in a barrel or even clean it very often - look up the thread then read the posts, in particular read comments by FORMIDILOSUS, he KNOWS what he is saying/advising

Another vote for Kroil. I like G96 Gun treatment... don’t ever hear much about it but my buddy’s dad is a big Winchester collector, swears by it, sold me on it. Butch’s bore shine for the fouling.

I like boretech. I’ll use wipeout also and actually going back and forth will get some stuff out that the other won’t. I do also get aggressive with carbon once in awhile. Regular cleaning 50-100 rounds. Start by cleaning the factory preservative out of the barrel. I still like to clean for the first few rounds and first few 3-5 shot strings. I’ve read what Form says and believe his data but I’ve also had a rifle go from 0.2-0.3” groups to throwing shots a foot high left and next a foot low right when it was time to clean. I had heavy heavy carbon fouling. Cleaned and rifle went right back to 0.2-0.3”. Form may not have had a problem not cleaning but I sure did. So now I clean every 50-100 instead of never. Also if you plan to test different bullets and powder it’s a good idea to clean between.
