What does everyone do for a living?

Reviving this thread because it is awesome!

I am an active duty Air Force pilot, going on 16 years this summer. The end is near, but then I will have to get a real job. Even fighter pilots must grow up one day.

Vice President of a Heat Treating company in Dallas.
We don't make anything, we make them tough!

I, unfortunately, do residential concrete flat work. Just turned 40 in November and it's starting to take more of a toll on my body every year. About time to find something else. Kind of like not being in the same place everyday and working outside though.

In my heart I am a chip 'n dales dancer but sadly I'm built closer to Chris Farly then Patrick Swazye, so I'm simply to sexy for that line of work so instead I am a range con for the BLM in Eastern Oregon

Currently a Plant Engineer for a steel mill but have done a lot of project engineering in the past (in case anyone out west is looking for a good engineer)

Owner of a commercial security installation company, mostly subcontractor work for the big guys (JCI, Siemens, Securitas) though lately all I seem to do is fire people

Professional moron who tries to get high school students to learn and love math. Used to sell and repair PC hardware on the side, and was always the network IT guy at every school I taught at up until last year. 17 years to retirement, and trying to not fall apart before I get there.

Process Operator for a P66 oil refinery going on 1 year. Previously did research in a pilot plant for the ethanol industry.

Software Developer, 14+ years. I'm 30 and the money is good, but I dream about getting out of it. Even going back to school sounds good sometimes, would love to work with wildlife.

I'm 27 going into my 5th tax season in public accounting. Thinking about changing direction to a.... more people time - less analytical staring at a computer in a cage time job.
