What do you do for a living? How can you help?

I work in media archiving. If you old boys have a bunch of old slides, vhs or photo albums you need converting to digital i can help out!

Full service masonry contractor. Stone, block, brick, pavers, cladding, hardscapes, water features, masonry fireplaces/isokerns. We work throughout the intermountain west, have done work in Mexico, and worked as far away as the east coast and Anchorage, Alaska for specific projects. Anything from headstones and small repair jobs, to custom homes, to university buildings and LDS temples and we’ve probably done it.

For the record, concrete is NOT masonry. Drives us nuts when people call and ask us to pour a driveway or something. Call a concrete contractor, not a stone mason.

Anyone can PM me with questions. We also own 2 stone quarries and a world class fabrication shop that rivals even what you’d see in Europe, so I can help you out there too.

I’m an adult babysitter (law enforcement) but current politics, and other events surrounding the career have me thinking elsewhere.

I am currently a supervisor/ Lead Driver for a propane delivery outfit. Got my Cdl some years back, added hazmat and tanker. Got hired as a driver, it was a good job for six months, then I got promoted and been doing this job for the last 3+ years. I came to it from two decades as a custom home builder, looking for a lower stress job. Managing drivers ain’t that…

Built houses from raw land to move in ready in my previous life, ranging from small and cheap to multi-million dollar homes with pool-houses and several thousand square feet. Did one that was an exact replica of the home the owners had had in their previous location. Shocking sometimes to see the things people will spend crazy money on. If you need an answer about anything to do with home construction, I probably can help.

These days, I build for myself. Generally build and sell a home every few years, live in it a couple years to negate the capital gains taxes on the sale. Got into energy efficiency, in our last home we cooked with gas for thirteen months and heated a full winter using a propane wall heater, and used less than 100 gallons of propane for that thirteen months. This was an 1800 sf house with vaulted ceilings throughout up to 14 feet at the high end, and we kept the house comfortable, 72 degrees or more. Missouri winter. Not the worst, of course, but far from Florida or Texas winters.

Was an ironworker in my younger days, if you can step across it, I can weld it. Been a competitive shooter, fixed a lot of cars, spent a few decades now keeping a woman thinking I am a good man, and raised a couple good kids with her, spoiling the grandkids now as opportunity presents. We still cut our own wood and feed the stove in the living room. That stint on propane was a poor a living as we cared to try.
