Did a mag of pistol at 7yds, then worked on position shooting at 200yds on my plate rack. Plates are varying sizes and hang at different heights.

Fired 5 round groups without the suppressor then 5 round groups with the supressor.

Four different bullets.

High with supressor low without, as expected.

I had 15 each of the 105 hybrid and the 95 TMK.

Next time out I’ll get a better zero with the suppressor after I decide which bullet I’m going to use. Leaning toward the TMK since I’ve never killed anything with them.

I now have 100 rounds on the barrel and all my brass has been fired once.

Predator hunting has been horrible without snow yet so I’ve been dicking around with a tripod. Sub 2lb tripod and head and a sub 9lb suppressed gun may not be the ideal setup but it’s working nicely for me so far.

Picked up an HNT26 chassis to play with. Dropped my Tikka 223 trainer in it before committing to a full build. Really like it! But having a hard time justifying it. I have two PH3s that are shooters.
Very torn.

That's what I was shooting yesterday, too - wicked fun! Shot probably 50-75 rounds of 223.

I took the Sauer 100 6.5 CM to the range for a sighting in session. Trijicon 3-9x40 AccuPoint and Airlock ZG 6.5 on it.

I didn’t have much time, so I just grabbed a couple of boxes of the S&B 140-grain FMJ. My goal was just to get it zeroed at 100 yards.

It shot decently. I need to get used to the mirage from the Airlock. I don’t think I should be shooting more than five before letting it cool down. The shot marked “9” was actually shot “6” and mirage was noticeable by that point. I will try it out again another day when I can be more patient.

I didn’t have time to try out my Hornady 140-grain ELDMs in it. It may be that it will slightly prefer lighter/shorter bullets.

The S&B ammo wasn’t bad at all. It’s at least decent practice ammo.

The rifle functioned flawlessly (as it should). I used both my 5-round magazines and my 10-round magazine. I comment on this only because the rifle absolutely won’t fully eject the snap caps, but performs flawlessly with live ammunition and empty brass.

I still prefer the RokStok over any other stock. The recoil direction is much more pleasant.

I also took my CZ 527 6.5mm Grendel back to the range. I took the Trijicon off it and replaced it with a SWFA 2.5-10x UL. That makes it about four ounces lighter. It also has the same scope as my CZ 457 .22 LR now.

Once I got it dialed in, I finished off a box of the cheap AAC 123-grain FMJ.

For all that it is cheap and slow, it’s not bad ammo. At least the last two lots I have purchased have been fairly good.

Took the 8 lb tikka 6XC today to finalize zero and try some loads.
First up was the 95 tmk
I dialed up and down 47 MOA 3-5 times between every shot, also removed and replaced the suppressor to see if that had any effect. If any of that changed anything, it was minimal.


Next was the Hornady 105 BTHP


Finally the 108 ELD M


What a great shooting rifle, compilation of all three groups would be under 1.25 MOA for 30 shots with three different bullets.

Looking forward to trying the 95 TMK on a whitetail doe in a couple weeks.
I shot two with the 108 eldm and two with the 105 hybrid earlier this year so I’d like to see how they compare.

Tested some 77 TMKs in the gas gun.

I’ll likely leave it and party on.

Went out at 5am took 3 rifles, two to develop loads and one to check zero. Set up with one light at the target and another light at the bench, was done in 45 minutes and it was still dark when I got home.

Last weekwent out and shot some different loads for the nrl rifle. 147 eldm's turned a not super accurate barrel into a shooter for this year! Also a 6 arc group after i added a swfa 3-9

Today went out to the range again to walk a buddy out to 500 with his new seekins. Also finished some 162gr load testing for my 284 win. Had some 180gr rds left in the box so shot them to make sure the scope was close. ( just reassembled the rifle)

I sort of did that yesterday - I'd removed the can from the kids' 5.56AR so I could use it on my 6.8 for a couple days. Remembered why I don't hunt with it anymore (the side charging 5.56 upper has ruined me on conventional charging handle guns, for hunting deer) and stuck it back on the 5.56. Shot three shots to check. Still dead on at 225.

Also, this is hardly a full proper test, but the kids shoot enough of the 5.56/77TMKs for me to set my powder dispenser up to throw charges instead of weighing each one. I did that the other day then used those thrown-charge loads to check zero. Previous average velocity was 2575'. Three shots with the thrown charges were 2583, 2587, and 2561. That's 23.0 of Benchmark in 1x AAC brass. Not a sufficient test, but more than enough to make me comfortable for the last week of deer season.

Been hitting the indoor range a lot lately, mostly a Ruger American 22 but I work in a centerfire most days also.

My old savage 25-06, 100 gr TTSX, 10 shots pretty quick, that one high shot pissed me off, I pulled the shot which made the group just under 2”, otherwise it would’ve been 1.25” which is what that rifle shoots consistently.



I’ve been using the 22 to get in reps since it’s cheap and it shoots pretty good.

I’ve been shooting a lot off hand, normally 50 rds at 50 yds averaging 85% in a 7 moa circle, this time I shot a 7 moa circle at 100 yds averaging 62% in the circle, so I’ve got some work to do.

In November I got the barrel broke in with shoot/clean/shoot procedure (which is maybe imaginary/unnecessary?) and then tested 4 different factory in 10-shot groups to see what shot best.


Today I returned to the range to confirm the zero with the best of those loads and to try to true the velocity based on the drop (I don't own a chrono). These are rounds #81-120or so thru the gun.
I fired 20 rounds in 4 shot strings (limited by magazine capacity & suppressor mirage) my 4th group I noticed the POI was a ways left. When checked the suppressor was about 1/8-1/16 turn loose and when tightened group 5 came right back in to match the others.

a composite of all 5 groups (including loose suppressor) shows POI .11mil left, .06mil low

Given the uncertainty of the 1 loose suppressor group and otherwise mostly less than a click off POA I elected to leave the zero as-is for right now and will check again with another larger group at next range session.

I then went out to 370 (which was the furthest I could shoot to conveniently) and made a guess on velocity based on barrel lg: box velocity 2970 / 24" barrel, I assumed 2870 with my 20.5" barrel (25 fps/in)

I suck & told my spotter that I pulled my first shot in the pink group. then proceeded to shoot 3 more.
adjusted velocity in the 4dof app & changed up my dial from that and fired the yellow group.

I did not have time to shoot at any other distances but my hope for the next range day is to try shooting out to some random distances in the 250-500 range in an attempt to further confirm/refine velocity without a chrono.


just for fun I made an 8 shot composite of my two groups at 370 yds (mathing out the .2mil difference in dial to superimpose)
and even with my bad shot it's a 1.5MOA group which I feel pretty OK about.
