So I am going to get a EXO mountain 5500 for Christmas. I really want to get the coyote tan color. Then I heard someone say that is not a good color to get due to someone may mistake you for a elk???? I guess the tan color but.... So question is what is the best color is get? Is the tan thing really a concern?

Thanks

Tom

Pick what you like... if you are concerned about being mistaken for an elk put some orange on it or the load panel accessory that has orange and run it on the outside.

My packs are Coyote brown- don't fret over it. Just don't be hauling tree branches in it during hunt season.
Safest plan would be to get far enough from humans to not have to worry about it
:)

Odds are rare you'd get shot but there are a lot of morons out there too...

Personally, I have been switching to solid colors for my gear lately and stick with green or gray for this reason.

I did multicam on my 2000 then added a Cipher bag later. If I'd have known they were going to do a run in Cipher I'd have gone that route on the frame too. Not a big deal to me that they don't match, they work.

I always laugh when I hear don't wear coyote brown, you'll get shot. If some is going to shoot you because of color your probably getting shot anyway. I used it for years without incident.

I would get the color that you want. I just got my green 5500 and it looks fantastic! I wouldn't hesitate to get tan though. Great packs for sure!

My buddies always give me shit on mixing camo patterns so I wouldn't worry what your pack looks like. It hauls meat pretty good and that's all that matters.

I'm the same way, I actually like not matching I figure it helps break up the outline even more. I do a lot of predator calling and I often go with a lighter colored camo vest over my Kryptek jacket to break up my outline. Not sure if it helps but it sure doesn't hurt. My camo pattern options generally revolve around what I found in my size on clearance, Camofire, or Ebay.

lol coyote brown mistaken for an elk.. I have heard it all now. Some guys believe anything. Get the color you want, I have multiple coyote brown packs and have yet to be shot.

I've got (2) one in Ranger green and one in Multi cam both 5500's. Used them this last weekend on a deer hunt . If you got a 3500 already you know they are a great piece to a backcountry system . Color in a choice best left to each ones personal preference.

Was always curious what they’d look like with the colors mixed. Do you have any pictures with the ranger bag on the multicam frame?
