Hammers worked great out of my 7mm-08 last year on whitetails but for this year's muley hunt, I wanted to try 139 LRX's again. Thankfully I was able to source 150 139 LRX's a few months ago. I have had good luck with both 139 and 145-grain LRX's in terms of accuracy but have yet to take a critter with either.

Load development was very easy (but not as absurdly easy as the Hammers) and accuracy is excellent with the 139 LRX's so those are going with me on my hunt next week. At ~2900 fps. MV, I have had no reason to believe they won't do the job out to 500 if I need them to.

My rifle like H4350 with the Hammer Hunter bullet
I was hoping you were going to say that. I tried H4350 with the 152g and was getting three shot groups just a hair over 1 inch at 100 yards. Not bad, but switching to Shooters World Long Rifle tightened the groups nicely. I do have a 8 lb keg of H4350 and will try the 174g HH though my twist rate is right on the edge of what is recommended.

Two deer with 7mm RM and 143 hammer hunters. First one was small meat deer at 310, just got ribs and it left a great exit. Second was a poor shot by me (had been impacting low) , spined a nice 7pt wt and put the next through his neck at 255. Won't be turning back from hammers.

Hammer Bullet update, I have been working a load for my 270 Win using the Hammer Hunter 124 gr and Winchester Stabal 6.5. I did a modified OCW ladder test to just find the Max powder charge and any Velocity nodes. I have attached the picture of the target which was set at 100 yards. There are eight rounds in the group, each case has a .3 grain increase. The Velocities started at 3115FPS and ended at 3212FPS.
I never hit any signs of pressure. So far Hammer bullets have been very easy to find accuracy in my rifles.

great work my friend, would you try up and down 1/10 and see the result, and good luck.
I found two velocity nodes in the string, one in the middle and one at the my max load. I am going to work at the top first and see how that looks.

Sierra 308 SBT 150 AND 165 on deer.
69 down within 20 ft, 1 lost wounded my fault.
Bullet performance good.

Nosler partition 308/150 on hogs.
5 down. 2 boars 260 and 310 lbs fought through boiler room hits and required another shot.
None lost, all at close range in palmetto, didn't get eaten. Bullet performance excellent. Had to shoot one broadside through the shield and the bullet went through both shields! Welped up under the skin on the offside. Didn't go down but stopped screaming. Pretty exciting at 50 ft anyway. Neck shot followup did it. If you're on the ground, don't mess around.

I'm gonna try out Hornady SST on deer. No news yet.

139 LRX's from my 7mm-08 and possibly my .284 Win once it's finished. They shoot great from my 7mm-08.
Have you seen these available anywhere recently? Would love to try them but have only seen the 145gr available.

Barnes ttsx for the last couple years in my .280 and.300wm which have always worked fine for pig, deer and elk but I might get some hammers just because I like to mess around and they seem to get a lot of positive talk.

Nope. I bought three boxes the last time I saw them and will probably buy another three when I find them available again.

Yep, I'd love to try them but haven't seen them anywhere. On the mailing list everywhere that seems to carry them.

145gr LRX
140gr VLD-H

For the 280 Ackley, burning thru the factory 140gr AccuBond for the brass, works great on deer out 320yds

If the 7mm-08 doesn't sell, I might shop around for the 139gr LRX
