What bincoculars do you use?

I've been using nikon monarch 7 for about 20 years now and they seem to be pretty good. Don't have any high end binoculars to compare them to. I would like to upgrade but am worried about spending alot of money and not getting much more. I'm a southeastern deer hunter and don't ever hunt out west.

Leica Geovid R 10x42 Rangefinding binoculars. A great size, very good clarity. I got them as a demo from EuroOptic. Highly recommended.

Leica Geovid Pro RF for rifle hunting.
Very good glass, RF bino's are way better than 2 separate units for rifle hunting.

Swarovski 12x42 NL for archery/scouting
Swarovski NL's are the best binos I have ever used. I would replace them warranty or not if anything happened to them.

On the Swarovski warranty. A few years ago I sent in a 20 year old pair of SLC's.
They went through them, and put in the HD glass for under $300.

Depends on your budget. A Maven B or C budget isn't going to buy alpha glass, with or without the bells and whistles. Unless you go used or demo and stretch your budget.

Yeah, definitely don't get hung up on Swarovski's "lack of" warranty. They will take care of you. All of my non-rangefinding binos are Swaro.

Currently, for me:

Leica Geovid Pro 10x42 for rifle hunting.
Leica Geovid Pro 8x32 for archery hunting.

These Geovids, for no good reason, don't hold their value as well as Swaro EL Range TA's. So you can find really good deals on gently used Geovid Pro's if you watch the classifieds.

Swarovski fanboy here. Have used their products for many years and been very happy with them and their warranty service when I "overused" them.
However, my latest purchases of rangefinder, spotting scope, and last two rifle scopes have been Maven.

Don't discount the Swaro warranty. They will refurbish your glass for a low price when needed. That's what puts them ahead of the other alpha-level bino brands like Leica and Zeiss. If you have the money, I believe a set of Swaros is the best investment a hunter can make.

But there are lots of options from other manufacturers. SIG's Zulu series image-stabilized binos are arguably the best tools for spotting game available. When I demoed a set, I was in awe. Maven's B.3 8x30 is unbeatable for price, weight, and performance. I don't think it give up much to the top-end 8x32s.

A newer set I used last fall is Leupold's BX-4 Range HD 10x42. If you can handle the weight, they perform very well, and there's no argument that having the rangefinder incorporated into the unit is a huge advantage.

I've owned dozens of binoculars over the years, and my overall favorite is still Nikon's 8x32 SE porro prism I bought in 2009. The distortion free view, depth of field, and low cost ($500 to $600) allow these "vintage" binos to compete with anything made.
