What are your Rockslide pet-peeves?

I would have sent foot and bellybutton photos

Like some WTS classified pictures? At least the toes part. Now there’s a pet peeve. No one wants to see your jagged big toe nail and hairy Sasquatch feet. I can say I’ve yet to see a belly button. Thank goodness.

Threads that are just arguments going in circles about whatever that small group wants to argue about. Next thing you know they go for pages and pages and clog up the feed. It reminds me of a jr high playground sometimes.
Look how many of Our mods liked your post.

We agree so next time they lock a fight up, stick up for them.

👊

Generally by the time the mods lock up a thread I have already learned to bypass it.

Thank you to the mods for gently warning posters toeing the line, intervening when necessary, and having a sense of humor when others crack wise about the awkward situation.

When people talk about companies because they did a nice thing - "They earned a customer for life" or "that's all i'll ever use going forward" as if they know wtf is going to happen with the company or products for the rest of their life unless 1 foot is already in the grave.

People asking for input about rifles as a tool who really just want an expensive fashion statement/status symbol.

Edit:
Folks giving advice who have no business doing so (you have no idea who you are).
Damnit. guilty.

I wouldn’t call it a pet peeve, but strongly disagree with the .223 page about it and use of match bullets are the be all , end all for shooting large game !
Hell it’s illegal in most states. Small white tail deer, exotic animals, vermin, ect
Fine. But heavy large game nope !
2nd peeve is advocacy of long range hunting ( 500+ meters) imo
a shooting competency certificate should be required for buying a hunting license , way too many people hunting trying to shoot beyond their ability.
I took my hunter safety certification courses, did my CCL and shooting test
And saw way too many people who couldn’t even hit a very generous target @ 5 yards ( yea that’s 15 feet)
I have been a licensed hunting guide and outfitter since 1990 and a USCG licensed captain since 1989 , and see increase in both hunting and boating incompetence every year.
I have to self regulate my hunters, by taking them out to hit a white paper plate @ 200 yards in a hunting situation,
Call me a old Fudd if you want but prove me wrong

Has anyone said it's the "be all, end all" or are you reading what you want to read? Are some folks advocating for .224 diameter, match style bullets? Absolutely. Are folks saying "it's the be all end all"? Not that I've seen, but could have easily missed it.

Last I checked it's "illegal" in only a handful of states.

Who exactly, on Rokslide, is advocating for long range hunting? Pretty sure the over arching message of this particular site is to practice and then practice some more. I haven't seen a single post from any Rokslide staff, mods, or regular/active members encouraging anyone to shoot long range at animals.

I generally agree with you. Firearm safety handling and general riflemanship should be exhibited before anyone hunts. At what "level" this gets "checked" or "validated" is tricky I think.

I agree, it's pretty scary out there these days. Folks think a "custom magnum" and "scope that dials" is all they need to be a long range killer... If only there were a solid forum like Rokslide to help show folks just how difficult rifle competency truly is.

Anyone who actually calls anyone else a "Fudd" is weird.

Bro. He listed his pet peeve which is literally his opinion. Lets let him have it and not debate it here. If he wants to debate it I'm sure he can find the 223 thread to do it in.
