Curious to know what you guys have planted or are planning to plant this year for food plots. We don’t have the best soil but clover seems to grow naturally pretty well around our fields so we are adding more of that. We are also going to try some whitetail institute fusion and winter greens this year. Last year we planted some evolved habitat mega plot and the deer demolished it. We also used some antler king slam dunk last year with the same result. So we opted to put a little more of those in as well and try some 7 card stud. I found a bag of all chicory and a bag of all barascus that we are going to sprinkle in to a few places. We are also going to try some whitetail institute secret spot back in our honey hole that the bucks love to cruise for does. My brother is a pioneer seed dealer and has some beans for me, however it’s been so dry here (1.5 inches of rain since late may) that I have decided to skip the beans especially since the neighbors all around us have planted beans. So those of you that do food plots what are you using this year and what kind of equipment are you using? This is only our second year so all we have is a small tractor and tiller, hand seeded and a drag to cover it. Sorry for the long post just thought I’d start a thread and see what others are doing.
