That 999 price point is ridiculous! It’s hard not to buy the latest and greatest but the difference in price is a big chunk of change!

it is and I was thinking after I posted that whatever gen KOWA had out of that scope in 2021, I actually tested it on the mountain in a head to head with a friends.

I had my Nikon ED50 with the 13-30 eyepiece and I chose the Nikon over the KOWA barely. Optically by a margin and by quite a bit by weight (the Nikon is scary light) If 2021 was the gen that's on sale, it's still a pretty good scope for the money.

anyone know for sure when the current gen was released?

Anyone have a YETI code? A bear got my wife’s glass French press camping this summer so going to get her a yeti one with a couple drawings the kids did engraved on it. Not seeing any sale except free engraving and free shipping, which of course actually means $15 shipping.

I’ve been waiting until now for new ski boots. Going to need to get drunk in order to hit the order button though with the $75 shipping charge. The old version is still very impressive. I was able to compare gen 1, gen 2 and my ATS65. The gen 1 held its own against the ATS. The ATS was still better and better by a decent margin but when you put the cost, size and weight saving into it. The ATS looks less impressive.

I have the kowa 88 with the prominar glass. I’m a big fan, I just hate carrying it! At some point I’ll add a baby swaro or baby kowa for a backpack setup!

After an issue with trying on my new jetstream and the wrist stitching split when I put my hand through it for the first time. I’ll be returning that and chalking it up to sitkas quality has went in the toilet. I looked at born primitives soft shell… can’t tell if the pits have zips or not. Other than that it’s truck pulling parts I’m after.
