Found these in a local ad and would like to know what they're worth.

They would not last 5 min listed at that price.

Personally I would buy new SLC HD’s used before I’d spend that much on the older EL’s. Yes they are good but they are dated and to me are the same value as a vortex razor. So maybe they would sell fast at that price but personally I wouldn’t spend over $1k on them.

Agreed but you will find them for $1350-$1450 if your patient. If you’re going to spend $1200 I’d spend a little more. Like I said $1k is max I would spend on older swaro, then I’d look at saving a little more and get the newer stuff. But that’s just me, if you would rather save an extra $150 or $200 and buy a items 16 years older that just doesn’t make great sense overall. In 16 years will your 32 year old optic have the value of a 16 year old? Maybe to collectors I guess.

12 would be max in mint.
These could be 16 years old and didnt sell for 1400 new. But they hold their value really well.

Spot on. I asked for the heck of it. Made in 03. 16 years old.

Agree on getting new SLC, but comparing anything Swaro to Vortex.....come on. I've got mid 90's SLC in 8x30 and absolutely love them. I'd likely stop at $1200 for those EL, but they are really that good.

Just be aware of what you are buying. The current ELs are valued for the field flattened lenses and HD glass. Those have neither. They were top-of-the line 2003 glass, they aren’t that today. I think many list/buy this version of EL not knowing this.

They will be good glass if well taken care of. Swarovski will stand behind them like no other company. They are known for even being able to upgrade prisms, lenses, for a reasonable fee but you would need to call and ask.

You have a reasonable range here, but at the high end you’d begin to find better performance from other manufacturers new $1k glass. Comes down to how much you want Swarovski and if you can get them at the right price.

You can get brand new 8x42 and 10x42 SLC HD binoculars from a couple site sponsors with their discount code for $1395 and $1440 respectively.
