Started my daughter on carrying a pack at about 9. It’s mostly when hiking since we don’t get to do much meat packing out here in TX. Picked up a new pack from Gregory for her this year that fits her well with a 30L capacity

I started my kids out with camel pack's at 8yrs old , there small and and comfortable and they love drinking water out of them and can carry some snacks for the day as well . I think the key is not giving them a pack that's to big or awkward so they can enjoy there time out there , and if they happen to get one you can still get it tied on there so they can help with the pack out.KIMG1939~2.JPG

My kids had backpacks very early. They graduated to larger packs regularly and finally got mystery ranch popups.

My boys love carrying packs and it’s never slowed them down, think they started around 4-5 years old carrying water and snacks now they are 11 and 13 and have both carried their fair share of meat in their packs, they’ve really enjoyed carrying their own stuff and when I’ve offered to carry things for them they always shut me down and so they are fine.

Any of those stand out? I briefly owned a kifaru tactical and a k2. Much more time with the k4, even more with the xcurve. Can't quite tell where the western edge fit in

kid in the back has the kifaru mini keg, the one with a rack is the western edge, mini keg is harder to strap meat and heads to and all the straps where way to big, sold it.

This is a EXO EXS, waist belt and shoulder straps are slimmed down to fit the little guys better, good working load lifters and a solid frame
