aren't whale tails the 5th and 6th points? or are we saying whale tails are the terminating branch of any antler?

Personally, I'd never consider a sword and the main beam on a 5pt to be a whale tail, a hay fork sure. Then again, I am on the spectrum. I guess this guy qualifies...

I know it's hard to see. But if I zoom in it blurs out too much. This is the biggest elk I have seen with a tag in our pockets. 1.5 miles away through the spotter. We weren't able to get our hands on him but we got a unique bull that I will post below.







This is the one that got the bullet. A broken 7 that grew a 30" brow tine on the broken side. Couldn't pass him up with hopes of getting on the bull above.

That's a stud, beautiful tails. I wouldn't call that a "typical" 5pt though, he's just missing his 3rds.

looking closer I see the third on his left side and guess it's down in the blur of fronts on the right. just assumed based on your mention of big 5s, you were posting that bull as an example. he's a beaut clark
