Yes - or the Montana Heritage season? For "all states," are you including the pa flintlock only season?
What is currently the best option for an all state legal muzzle loader for muzzle loader only seasons? I see conflicting reports on the cva accura. I dont plan to shoot further than 150 yards.
No sir, mostly just the western states and idaho/oregon for the otc potential. I was looking at the knight rifles.Yes - or the Montana Heritage season?
Would it be possible to get one that does most western states, and one more "primitive" gun to cover the rest? You’re really handicapping yourself using one muzzy for all western states.
There are several very restrictive muzzy hunts in western states like NM and MT.
To be legal in all western states’ muzzy seasons, you’d have to use a percussion/flintlock with open sights. Oregon also still requires “open ignition.”
The CVA Accura wouldn’t work even with a “Northwest Conversion Kit.”
And .50 (or larger) is your safest option as some states have caliber restrictions for larger game.
Currently, a .50 sidelock (think TC Renegade/Hawken) would be legal everywhere in the west.
Then you have CA which requires non-toxic projectiles which would be real tough in a sidelock….
This is a little dated, but gives you an idea.
