West Elk Wilderness Question

Curious if anyone can give me info on cell reception in this area on the Verizon network. In the past, I've hunted the Weminuche and surrounding areas and had service just about anywhere above 10200 feet. Can I expect something similar in the west Elk?

I’m with Verizon and don’t get cell service there, even on top of the Mesa. I carry an InReach for emergencies.

Thanks. I have an inreach, but a job opportunity came up and was hoping to be able to interview while in the mountains. May need to find a different way to go about this

I've carried sprint and vzn in that area and never had reception past 8-9000 ft.

verizon doesn't even work in some of the towns there. and nothing a few miles out.

You're not going to get cell reception in there.
