West Central Idaho guide for DIY/hybrid regular deer

Got regular deer (mule 2point and WT) tags for a unit in west central Idaho. This will be my and my BILs first trip out west.

We are not trophy hunters. Looking for the experience and meat. We are both avid outdoorsman, experienced backpackers, and in reasonable shape.

We are looking to backpack hunt and know our lack of experience in the area and with muleys will greatly limit the chances of success.

We are fine with DIY but also interested in talking to or hiring a guide. We aren’t wanting the full service kind with cabin tents, cooks Pack mules etc. seems the outfitters we are seen are all or nothing. Just Someone that can guide us in the hunt.

Are there outfitters that do this style of hunt? Any recommendations?

Outfitters in Idaho are restricted to specific operating areas. So you’ll be limited to only those that are licensed in the unit you bought tags for
