Well now ya know.....

Dunzo! I shrunk a collar on that I made from a barrel stub and matched it. I made some .025" cuts in both directions as fast as I could feed and it didn't budge. HOPEFULLY I don't have to lap the muzzle, but it was only. 0015" tight. Time to test drive it.20260315_092751.jpg20260315_101705.jpg
 
I'm frankly impressed that you did it and impressed that it turned out so well.

Also, a tiny bit jealous that you have a lathe on hand to do this stuff yourself. If I owned a proper metal lathe setup everything I own would be shortened and threaded. lol.

To be fair....I have two lathes. Doing this on one would SUCK. I spun the collar up after indicating the barrel in another lathe. You could do it with one....but it'd add a lot of work.

I spun the 28" up for a friend and after he broke the window in his truck just putting the goose gun in he wanted something more mainstream. I had this uber low mileage tube that nobody wanted.....so wtf... I cut it.
