North Idaho is finally starting to melt….tracked into the backcountry and started my hike 5 minutes in and cut two fresh wolf tracks running the forest service trail. A good day out running the gear and post holing🤣left the snowshoes at the machine big mistake. The fabrics are holding up well and probably about time to wash the pants plenty of sweat in them.

Hey all.
Some pretty big changes and an update on sizing.

I already have my new pair of pants to replace the ones that tore.
They're changing the material they use to reinforce the butt and knees.
(I'll send pics later)

Also, I asked for size 34's instead of size 36's. The 34's are spot on for me.
For reference, I'm a size 35 in Sitka. I can't wear Sitka 34's. It feels to me like a Born Primitive 34 equals a Sitka size 35.
(I will also send pics later)

Welcome! Where are the clothes made? I've looked around and haven't found that anywhere.
I asked them a while ago, and don't recall which countries specifically but I believe it was a couple different ones in SE Asia. Hit up their customer service, they'll tell you exactly which ones.

Pretty excited to see this high-end clothing company coming on as a Rokslide sponsor. We checked out their lines at the WHCE in February and think they’ll be some big fans on Rokslide. To be sure, we’re getting some of the hunting-specific pieces in the writers’ hands, (@realunlucky @Ross @Howard Mee ) and as always, they can say what they want. Watch for those reviews starting up in the the next few weeks. Hoping to cover these pieces and more:

Here’s some company info:

Veteran owned and operated; Born Primitive was founded 9 years ago as a pure Crossfit apparel brand. As fate would have it, through some special operations backchannels, they came across the Aron Snyder's tracks. During some backcountry training together and a shared bond for their love of the outdoors, Born Primitive Outdoor was created. Designed, developed, and tested by Aron Snyder with the textile resources and fire power from Born Primitive's athletic apparel business, it's designed for the western backcountry hunter. Born Primitive Outdoor is entering their second hunting season. They have big ambitions for the product line, and are just getting started.

See more Born Primitive here

Please give Born Primitive a big fat Rokslide welcome!
These are some really cool jackets .. I like them

Define weak (weak like Ryan’s biceps, or weak like non-alignment?)

Yup. Good catch. Weak is a weak word.

The thumb holes on the Ridgeline are bomb proof. Extra thick. Reinforced. I think the top will disintegrate before the thumb holes tear out.

The Sun Shirt doesn’t serve the same purpose as the ridge line so it’s thumbholes aren’t as robust. Totally different design.

I see...well that's what a review is for. Let us know if she holds up.

Just my opinion but a sun shirt should have a true thumb whole and cover the back of your hand.

They say:
“Extended Cuff & Thumb Loops for better coverage”
I’ll check the hand coverage when I get back into town. I was wearing it with the sleeves pulled up.

Still running with the Born Primitive.
This was two nights on the river and full weekend.

About to spend 3 days and 2 nights raft camping and living in this shirt. I’ll add more info next week.

I still not a fan of the thumb holes, but maybe that’ll change when I’m baking in the sun? :/
Everything else with the Sun shirt still gets a “gold star”

The phone was in the dry box so I didn’t get any good photos, but just spent 3 days raft camping in the river. I wore the Sun Shirt all day and all night for the entire trip.
It performed great. I jumped in the water with it on. Wrung it out with my hands and put it on to keep cool. It dries out plenty quick. The hood is awesome. Fits great. Stays on.

Recommend improvements.
1- It gets hot sitting in the blazing sun. I’d recommend a lighter color than golden-brown.
2- I’d like to see a better thumb loop design. The thin loop isn’t comfortable. Luckily the sleeves are long enough I didn’t really need them

A few photos of my time wearing the Quiver Hoody. Very breathable, has thumb holes, and a very soft feel. Another good option for hoody guys🤙 Howard will have more on his review.

Still getting plenty of days in the Sun Shirt. The tops of my ears complain when I forget it.

Read this thread yesterday morning, ordered a pair of pants. They were in the mail by 10:00 a.m. in the mailbox by noon today. Unbelievable!
So far the pants are exactly like everyone has said. Super comfortable. I will update after a week of hiking and fishing!

Has anyone had this happen?
The reinforced nylon layer on the butt separated from the seam.

I also have a hole in my front left pocket. The sewing machine laid down the proper seam/stitch but it missed the fabric.

If no one else has experienced this, it looks like the sewing machine left some defects. I’ll give Customer Service a call and see what they say.

Yeah. I think so.
They sent me a new pair of pants and the new pair was sewn from a different fabric.

That’s good to hear. I don’t own anything by them but sounds like they made it right. I like some of what I have seen from them

Been wearing the quiver hoody a bunch scouting-- is a super comfortable grid fleece. Arm length is excellent and thumb holes are handy for wearing under another jacket. Look forward to using more this season
