Although I wasn't chosen to do the review, I was able to get my hands on a bipod before I left for my hunt.

My hunting partner J Sample isn't much of a long range hunter but when we were only able to get to 510 yards he put the spartan bipod to use with my rifle dropping his buck in it's tracks.

needless to say spartan gained a customer.

My other hunting partner GBlum22 and I were also able to connect on mule deer at 200 and 600 yards.

The bipod works great and is very solid for how light it is, I plan on purchasing another one in the long option.

I have two of these, the short and the tall.

They are lightweight as all get out and a HUGE improvement over the Harris/Champion type bipods in my opinion.

I used one on a Stone sheep hunt in August and it was the cat's meow so I bought another one.

You can buy an adaptor so one bipod can be used on several rifles. It's a pretty slick design.

Hi Jim,
I recently picked up a Spartan bipod. Found this thread as I'm trying to find out how much give or "slop" this should have. Would you say a spartan bipod needs to be preloaded like an Atlas? Mine has quite a bit of movement. Any advice is appreciated.

I preload mine. Just enough to take out the slack.

It should have a little movement but not loads... to preload or not...now that’s a long conversation!
