Weaver Style Rings On Picatinny Rail

I know that Weaver rings will fit on picatinny rails but the slot is smaller on the rings. Will this matter with the recoil of a 30 '06?

As long as you mount the scope such that the contact surface of both rings are firm against the muzzle end of the slots in the pic rail, you won't have a problem.
