Thoughts on this rifle? Thinking about buying one in left hand. Not the titanium model. Seems like a lot of rifle for the price. One thing I never owned is a light weight rifle and this would scratch that itch.

I have a 6.5 RPM in a Weathermark LT that I’ve had for 3 years now I think. It’s light which makes packing it definitely enjoyable but I do find it tough to shoot. I haven’t reloaded for it, just factory loads and I haven’t had any great groupings with any of their ammo. Personally if I had to do it over, I’d get a 6.5 PRC. They’re not that much slower and ammo is more readily available. I haven’t seen RPM ammo on any shelves where I’m at in over a year. PRC is more enjoyable to shoot as well. I haven’t hunted with my RPM for the last 2 years. Maybe one of these days I’ll tinker with it more, but I found a different rifle that I’m much more confident in that I’ve used for the last 2 years.

I have a right hand 1.0 model of what you are asking about. Personally I love the cartridge and rifle. I screwed the barrel up on it, having it re-barreled right now in 6.5 RPM. I've had good luck accuracy wise with several different hand loads. Being a lighter rifle makes it harder to shoot accurately compared to heavier rifles I own, but it's a lot more enjoyable to carry. I also have a 6.5 PRC, it's heavier, shoots lights out and only 100-120FPS slower, velocity isn't the top on my list. Love both rifles and calibers, guess that is why I have both.

I have the left hand backcountry guide (22” carbon barrel). My only complaint with the rifle is feeding sometimes isn’t perfect with the first or the last cartridge and the bolt has typical sticky cerokote feel. Shooting wise. I love it.

Local shop offered me a very good deal on one of these today. Gave them a deposit and told them to order it. Most likely it will be a LONG time before I gather the components, dies, and scope and head to the range.
Rifle is the 2.0 Backcountry in 6.5 Weatherby RPM. Weight is supposed to be either 5.2 or 5.4 pounds.
Should have it in a couple of weeks and will weigh it and report back.
