If you want to hear exactly how this win came together, listen to today's Rokcast with Dan Gates, the leader of the successful opposition!

There will be more fights to come but remember, we won this because we--residents & nonresidents, no-names & influencers, hunting industry big names & small names, and more-- got together and beat this!

Good job people!

Here's the episode:

Thank you all for fighting this as it pertains to all hunting here. I'll surely listen to this. Found this article today which just highlights the importance of this victory.

That is a strange article. Looks like they’re just going out of their way to confuse people on whether he shot the lion or not. Should be pretty black and white. Geez.

Thanks for sharing man!

It's interesting that the article even states that they don't normally see them in Greeley, so, to me, that seems like there's so many they are being pushed into new territory.

@robby denning I don't tend to listen to podcasts so I apologize if you covered this but it may be beneficial to do one that outlines how, or if, hunters can use the ballot process to put the power to regulate wildlife exclusively in the hands of the DWR and biologists.

Huge effort by the hunting community! Colorado hunters working grassroots ground game talking to friends and family, non-resident hunters pitching in fundraising, hunting industry folks using their platforms and hunting organizations banding together to build a winning strategy. I am sure I missed something but it really gives me hope for the future of this hunting tradition that was so dearly love.

On the day of the election someone stole my "Vote no on 127" sign in my front yard.

On the news last week right after the election they showed a video of a lion walking down the sidewalk in a neighborhood here in the middle of the night. But that isn't all that uncommon around here. I was also wondering why there wasn't some kind of ad stating that passing 127 would be detrimental to your pets. That might have made some of liberal pet owners at least think about the proposition before voting for it.

hey man,

yes, it's been more than discussed and actually implemented: Florida just passed a ballot box initiative to protect right to hunt & fish:

so the template is out there.

thanks

Good news! Thanks to all that helped! This was big.

Ironically a lion attacked two different dogs people were walking in Boulder. One before the election and one the other day.

I may or may not have searched the results of prop 127 before the results of the presidential race on November 6.

They will be back and we gotta show up again when they do. I will be cancelling my monthly to CRWM but will continue to put it in a separate bank account, ear marked for the next organization/state that needs it.

Also massive shout out to all the podcasts that had CRWM and HOWL on. Podcasts are the future to getting information out there and are going to be instrumental in these fights.

There had to be many companies that stepped up but seriously, the messaging that GoHunt did and stepping up with the donations that they did. Massive respect and their shop is now bookmarked. Many on here, myself included, have been very critical of these companies/influencers just taking from wildlife and not giving back. Now we need to step up and support the ones that did put their money where their mouths are.

Huge win! Can we please rally all these influencers and this amount of support for WA on their next attempt to strip more of our hunting rights? I love this state geographically, but man it's getting bad.

Big victory! I did my best from Georgia, I called 8 friends who live in CO (none of them hunters) and was able to convince all 8 of them to vote no.

Great to see hunters from all over the world work together to shut this down.
I think this is was A huge part of our victory, along with the well thought out commercials.

I did the same. Amazing how many people were completely confused. I got all kinds of responses like…

Are lions going to be hunted to extinction in Colorado?

Does yes mean yes to hunting?

Is it true that they kill the moms and then the babies die?

My favorite…do they actually strangle them to death?

I talked to friends, family, and co workers. Some uninformed but no push back, except on Nextdoor. Those people are crazy!

Kudos to the commercial with the dead kitty cat on the porch. That one was 🔥 as the kids say!!!

we are starting that!

hunters need to lean on any hunter with an influence and ask for help. Many of us just organically jumped into help, but more could be mined by just asking. Just becasue someone didn't help on this one doesn't mean they wouldn't future. Some hunters are so used to losing they think they can't make a difference. I thought that for a while too until we got involved with @Howl For Wildlife and saw how much we can do if we unite and get involved.

thanks Corb for stepping up. Made a difference around here for people to see a NR of Colorado get involved. I think Dan said on the episode that final NR dollars from individuals exceeded 60%!

That percentage number seriously surprised me and makes me happy.

I think I have been on a layover in Denver once. Other than that never been there, zero points there and as of now, no plans to ever hunt there. Maybe one day when the capital allows for it but one thing I do know. If they would have won in Colorado, they will not stop and its only a matter of time until they show up in my state.
