So the story on this particular buck is cool in itself. In January a friend Corey Sexton of Land of Encampment hunts out of New Mexico posted a way cool video of this buck. I immediately contacted him to confirm this particular buck was still alive and once I found out he was I booked the hunt with one goal in mind. Kill this buck. August rolled around and the guides had been watching him in a particular pasture and then right before my hunt he disappeared. Opening morning came and the forecast was for rain all day. We scoured the New Mexico countryside loooking for Sidekick. It was mid afternoon and I had passed probably 30 plus bucks including two to three really nice bucks. I think my guide thought I was crazy. But I knew what I wanted. We were headed back to go re look at a buck I passed a few hours earlier and get a better look at him since we could not locate sidekick. All of a sudden we come around a corner and look over at 180 yards away there he was. He had moved 3.5 miles from where they had been watching him. A quick single Berger 140 VLD from my Proof Research rifle was all it took. I was able to accomplish the goal I set out for.
