What are you guys recommending for water purification? Multiple bottles? The GeoPress? Or Lifestraw bottle? Or prefer gravity into bags then into bottles? Tablets?

What’s everyone using ? 7 day spike camp CO Sept

I have a Katadyn pump. The befree is way lighter, more compact, just as fast, and you just need a trickle to fill it up.

I have the Platypus Gravityworks and its kind of finicky on pressure. I've had to blow air in from the clean side to get it going as well. Ultimately, it works fine. I do want a more expeditious way, thinking about getting the big Katadyn gravity.

The BeFree is a great option, and marries up with the Hydrapak collapsible bottles. I like those little better than the smaller bags the BeFree comes with. I also have and use a Grayl, which I love the simplicity of when I don't need to be weight conscious. I gave up on pumps and Steripens.

I’m the water maid for 3 usually so I use an MSR guardian to keep my sanity filtering liters at a time. Always try to camp near enough to water to leave it there since it’s a brick.

We'll usually have Katadyn Gravity Befree 10L at camp but don't personally carry a filter, i just carry the aquamira water treatment drops.

Sawyer squeeze never lets me down. On long trips I use it as a gravity filter in camp straight into my 8l bladder. I typically always have it in my bag with at least one squeeze pouch. And purification tabs as backup. For filling bottles with ease in a small trickle, I have a small piece of poly pipe that will act as a fountain when needed

Check out HydraPak or Katadyne. Great flow rate and seems like good quality containers. I will be using in Colorado this September.

I run the Befree 1L with a MSR trailshot. Super light setup and have a backup if needed. Be cautious with the filters in super cold weather as they can freeze and ultimately fail on you.

Gravity filters are the easy button for large quantities of water. I use the platypus gravityworks for camp water and carry a steri pen for on the go.
