Water filtration setups?

Here’s my franken-filter after years of having parts and trying stuff. I like closed systems with quick connects.
Base camp, 12 oz:
Old blue katadyn base camp hang bag
Befree filter adapter for it
1 gal clear plastic clean water bag with quick connect drilled into lid 2.5oz, 5 pack for $10 on Amazon.
Standard hose with quick connects
Extra filters for redundancy, 2 oz
Hydrapak bag for drinking water, can be used as dirty bag. They make sweet quick connect lids now.

Backcountry, 5.3 oz plus platypus:
3L hydrapak dirty bag
Befree filter with adapter
Quick connects on the hose
Platypus bladder
If it slows down in the backcountry, I’ll make some warm water in my pot and agitate the filter, usually breaks some sediment free and flows better
Hope that helps for those of you with a bunch of parts!

You guys remember the pop bottle whirlpool/tornado from school?

I usually have 1 or 2 bladders for bulk water and 2 or 3 Smart water bottles for the pack so I don't puncture a bladder in daily use while hunting.

I use a pop bottle connector to attach the smart bottles directly to the Katadyne filter which minimizes spillage and having to hold the bottle under the stream.1000009498.jpg

Where did you get the adapter from the befree to tubing? I was looking for something like that earlier today and struck out.

When it comes to water that has high levels of particulate matter, as a pre filter 1000ml fish tank pre filters work wonders - kept our gravity filter working longer on the Alaska delta.
