Water bottle pouch for SG pack waist belt

I own and love a SG Solo, but I'm not big on their hydro holster design. I'm looking for a waist pouch similar to what is offered by Kifaru, but that will fit a SG waist band. There is a very old thread on this, but not sure what's been updated in recent years. This one from Outdoor Research looks ok, but I don't know if it's too floppy and will be bouncing around...

Anyone have a preferred system for holding a nalgene on the waistband of a SG pack?

You think that'll stay rigid enough on the 2inch webbing? Seems like since it's just a clip on it might bounce around. Not so?

It's fairly rigid. I haven't tested it yet but that's my plan I'll let you know

I made a couple very similar to the kifaru, it's pretty easy, mine are very functional, but not very pretty. The nice thing about making them yourself, is that you can make them to fit any bottle you like.

That actually looks pretty good, if it will fit a nalgene. Not sure if it will though....If it does I might try it and cut of the d-ring and the nylon top/drawstring.

I used the old mystery ranch water bottle holder that straps right around the hip belt, i put it in the corner between where the hip portion and lumbar pad met. I couldnt even tell that it was there. In fact I use it on my duplex frame too. Not sure if you can get it anymore from them, but maybe a used one.

I was actually just thinking about that today - whether or not I would even feel it if it were clipped right in that location. Maybe I'll give it a whirl, that one from my last post says it's for a 20 ouncer...
