Water bottle “particulate” filter?

I use a 3L CNOC water container along with a 1L lightweight nalgene for my water system. The CNOC bag is for “dirty” water and I use a steripen for purification with the nalgene.

Had an issue this year that it was easy to spill the CNOC. A water bottle squirt cap should fix this, which isn’t something hard to get ahold of.

That said I did have issues with debris/bugs in the water due to using no filtration whatsoever. I’m no worse for wear, but it is sorta nasty. I’d love to get a water bottle cap style filter that would simply thread onto the CNOC bag.

I don’t want or need to go the full .1 micron filter like a sawyer. I hunt general season and don’t want to worry about my filter freezing which is why I stick to a steripen.

Anyone know of a “water bottle squirt top” style threaded particulate filter?

You could try to cut something like this to fit inside your squeeze bottle cap. Although it may be less fussy to just cut a 3-4 inch section and lay it over the Nalgene mouth while you fill it from the CNOC.

Could use a coffee filter rubber banded on. Or an old t-shirt / rag / handkerchief. You're going to trade speed for how much it actually filters out.
