we need to make a couple trips this year I think Justin. that bear may be worth trying for again even though that spot is hell to hunt. hopefully theres no major fires and we can hit some other areas too. last year was tough for access.

I'm planning on hunting all the weekends in September. I won't have much vacation left though because of my November CO elk hunt. We should do a trip on Labor day weekend and try to get a bear or two before elk season.

No kidding! Exactly two months until I head north for another round of bowhunting black bears in Northern California. Some fun stuff right there!

Looks like Dirtytough, Littlebuf and I are going on a bear hunt the first weekend of September. We will take a bunch of pics and I'll try and get the shooting (if any) on video. Should be a really good trip. Hopefully we'll get 2-3 bears and put those Kifaru packs to the test.

Probably hike in Friday and hunt Sunday and Monday. We can scout for deer on Saturday since the season doesn't open until Sunday.

Question: Can we buy our second bear tag in advance, or do you have to turn in your first tag to get the second? I've never purchased the second before.

I think you can buy both at the same time if you want. Not sure though. I need to get my second before I forget.

I talked to Dirtytough today and we're thinking of leaving Friday Aug. 30th and hiking out Sept. 2nd.
That would give us a day to scout for mule deer and two days for bear hunting. Let me know what you think.

We also need to figure out our plans for elk which starts the next day. I'll probably have to work the first week of elk and then hike in Friday September 6th.

Actually I believe the season opens August 1st so we can kill on Saturday also. When I go scouting in August I might kill one then also.

that should work. im pretty much taking the first 3 weeks of September off anyway. Ill just head up for elk after we get back and you could meet me up there. you and Brandon need to give me a head start though, theres no way I can keep up with you guys on the trail
