I had heard that many retailers were wanting to have the MR hunting line in their locations. MR may not be able to keep up with what they feel the demand will be. Which means, hard to find enough help that wants to sit at a sewing machine all day for a job. This would also mean a huge investment in equipment and sq footage for manufacturing. So to keep up with the projected demand they had to move the hunting line offshore. I think one of biggest concerns was finding enough employees to keep the whole process going, making the commitment to retailers, then keeping the promise to deliver. By going offshore to someone that specializes in manufacturing, delivery would be more consistent.
Mr. Gleason is a smart guy. I am sure he put all the numbers pencil to paper and decided on the best option for more retail accounts would be to go offshore for manufacturing for the consumer side of his business.
