I really like my Kifaru puffy pants. But they're big and heavy. Warm AF and pretty durable.

What's a lighter weight alternative? Thinking Kuiu. I've got some Sitka 3/4 length and they're not that warm. The cut off design is kinda dumb.

Probably something down fill for a late season backpack hunt.

Bonus points if they fit a dude who doesn't skip leg day.

I picked up a pair of black ovis anchor point pants this spring. I’ve yet to put them to the test in the field, but I can attest that they fit well on muscular legs.

Agree with picking up the black ovis anchor point pants. I’ve been using them for a few years now and have thick legs. Pretty good value. Warm and lightweight

I'll keep an eye out for em on camofire! To the point where I mix and match brands I'm buying more Kuiu but it's more of what piece will fit my needs the best for the best price.

Is the jacket just as good too? I swolled up and my lost park parka doesn't fit very well anymore.

I used to try to stick to certain brands but have given up. I have Sitka rain gear and baselayers and kuiu midlayers and other stone glacier stuff. Some brands are better in certain categories for my use. Better to buy what fits your needs rather than what matches. I mostly wear solids anyways. Turns out you can kill elk even though you don’t look like you belong in a Sitka or kuiu ad ha

I found my kuiu puffies ripped far too easily. They are super delicate. I'm on the hunt for something better that can handle me sitting on a log.

Kuiu Super Down Ultra pants have been great for me. Very light (8 oz), very warm. I only wear them when stationary/glassing as the face fabric is thin and probably would not be very durable. I did (impulsively) put an aggressive 250 yd stalk on a group of elk just before dark while wearing them (mistake). I was really hot and sweating on the walk back to my pack.

Speaking purely for myself, Kifaru insulated anything has been some my worst purchases. Never again, much better options out there.

It's ok for hunting on the prairie where I'm only going a mile at most. But it's so bulky. Going to be doing more mountain hunting
