I’m learning! Last time out, which was my first experience, our group always went back to camp at lunch. I never really questioned why but I didn’t have a tag so I was just along for the ride.

Bring lunch with you onto the mountain, and bring a little extra food for when the elk hits the ground and you got a long night ahead of you before you see the truck again. As you pointed out .... the best advice in this thread is just staying out hunting, these guys are all elk killers season after season and some sit wallows, some dont, but the common theme is being on the mountain as much as you possibly can.
