Thinking about running a different set up then I've seen before. I just got a Ruger super Blackhawk 454 with the 4.6 barrel and I want to carry it next season. Well kydex options for magnum revolvers are pretty limited if not non existent otherwise I was thinking a cross draw setup for the waist would be great. Diamond d makes a drop leg Alaskan holster that might work as well. Last thing I was thinking was a chest holster for the revolver, and hill people gear bino pouch on my waist belt. Only reason for not running it under my chest bino harness is how bulky I think it will be. And all the extra straps under my pack. I am after all, the one who posted the diy for making a minimalist harness for the AGC bino pack.

Also considering a cross draw leather holster with belt-to-molle adapters

Update:

I went with a kydex chest holster from a seller on eBay called Alaris Tactical. It is amazing quality and for the price i am not sure it can be beat. I will probably end up getting another one in the future from him. Great to deal with and fast build time.

Gunfighters Inc makes a revolver holster that mounts on a Molle belt, order the Ronin model with clips.

I tried this. Couldn’t really find a pouch so I asked a couple of .mil buddies. They used a lot of general purpose pouches with either zippers or Velcro. Hill people makes a mole bino harness pack but it hasn’t been in stock in a while. Based on the thoughts from the .mil guys I tried running bingos on a belt pouch using a pouch and a padded insert made night vision googles by a company called Tyr tactical. It worked.

I will say that I ran it on a few short hunts. I gave up on the idea. I found there were just too many times I took off my pack but wanted my binos. Maybe rig you existing bino pouch to your waist belt and try it before you spend the $ on a purpose built pouch.

FWIW I ened up running my binos on a molle chest harness made by blue force gear. I can add a holster if needed pretty easy.

thanks for the replies! that gunfighters inc ronnin looks like it will work. i'm gonna try and order one with rear cant for cross draw. i will let you guys know how it works out.

Molle II "Medical Pouch" fits 10X42. I have one on my waitbelt and just put a pair in it. Cheap option to try out your idea.

I have a seek outside xl pocket that fits the binos perfect. The problem is the zippers are a pain to access quickly. I ordered the holster from gunfighters Inc so I will see how that works out. Thanks

Ya, the zippers on the Molle pouch are a hassle. I got rid of the Velcro tab, but the zippers are still tough.

I’d just stick with Binos in a standard chest harness and put the Gun on your waist belt. You can probably get a kydex for it or build one yourself. Kydex is east and fun to work with. Some rivets and the rivet punch are cheap and a kydex press can be made made from some boards, foam and c-clamps or just stand on it with your body weight. Making kydex for guns and knives is a good thing to be able to do.
