WA State Quality Deer Tage

Hey Everyone,

My cousin and I got drawn together for the quality deer tag in the Alta (242) unit in WA. We have both been hunting this unit since we were kids, we always are in the same area though.

Wondering if anyone has drawn this tag before and would like to give us some advice on how the hunt went or any tips?

I have explored this unit before, but like i said typically we are in the same draw every year.

If anyone has pictures of bucks they have taken during the quality hunt in this unit I'd love to see them!

Don't know where you hunt during the general season but during this time frame you will want to be focused on migration trails and rut staging areas in between summer and winter ranges. Those who do best with these tags leave the vehicles behind and hunt it like a real hunt. Do that and I expect you will have some good success on the tags. The ones that think these late tags in some units like alta are just for driving around and shooting a deer are most often disappointed. Works in some units but I doubt alta is one of them.
