Nice work Scott!

Nothing for me yesterday. Starting to see a bunch of sign though. The does and cows are just about ready to start dropping fawns and calves so I'll probably stick close to them for the next couple weeks.

I've been working my butt off lately and decided to take the day off tomorrow and get after the bears. The weather is supposed to be good so hopefully I can get lucky!

ill be doing the same thing next week. ive only gotten out once in the last 2 weeks. unacceptable, but at least the weathers sucked so I guess if I had to have a busy two weeks during a hunting season it was a good time to do it

Well I hit one end of the tree farm to the other yesterday. I saw 48 elk, 19 deer and one small bear. (probably 125-150lbs)
Still no shooters.

One of the nicer bulls I saw yesterday. He was about 600 yds away.

I saw three new calves but this is the only one that stood still. Pic didn't come out very good. (free hand through the spotter)

This tree was peeled during the middle of the day yesterday. I was in this spot in the morning and came back in the evening.

Just got word that a guy got a bear on the backside of the 602 this morning. That's where the pic of scat in the last post is from.

I've been hunting the Monroe unit and came across a fresh scrape yesterday. I tried a bit of calling at last light but no luck. Final two weeks to go.

saw one color phase tonight, nice chocolate brown bear. just too small to shoot. that's two bears too small for this season. I was hoping for better. took tomorrow off work, snows all but melted off now and tomorrow im hitting a high area that should be holding some bears. I think the next one I see is going down

last spring bear I took was about that size, probably more like 235 240 but close. there in there for sure
really? maybe im poor with weight judging. i figured that 2010 bear of yours about 200 even.
ha i never claimed to be an expert ;)
rule of thumb says 30-35% by fall correct?
