Anyone have experience using this as a hunting scope on a bolt gun? How is the reliability? I live in Maine and shoot most deer out of a tree stand and love having a scope with 1x for super close shots. That being said I have some fields that I shot out to 500yrds and love shooting steel and come to enjoy using mils. The vudu has .1mil turrets and I like the LE reticle. I just haven’t seen many people discuss it as a hunting scope and not sure how it holds up with keeping zero and tracking when shooting calibers other that 223. Thanks for any input or experiences.

Not completely what you asked but I'll give my input...... I have alot of trigger time on one from a gas gun at various ranges out to 4-500 yards.
Personal opinion is I think you will be left wanting more. The scope is not going to gather light very well in hunting situations especially in the early morning woods. It's not the scopes fault but the objective is too small. I have had to re-zero before from bumping the gun around. It could be the scope or the mount not sure. It's a decent scope but I would never spend that kind of money on a scope like that for hunting.

If it were me for the type of hunting your describing, WHAT I WOULD DO is grab a swfa 3-9 and mound a piggy back red dot (like an rmr) for the ultra close treestand stuff. That will cover you from treestand distances out to FAR past the 500 yards you also shoot.

This is what I was speaking of. There is several companies that make both styles. These pictures are strictly examples not brand recommendations.
